React Native Tech Lead

The React / React Native Engineering Lead is responsible for defining and driving the technical vision for cross-platform mobile and web development using React and React Native within their product area. This role requires deep expertise in React Native alongside strong native iOS and Android development skills — enabling the lead to bridge cross-platform and native implementations effectively. The React / React Native Engineering Lead owns the cross-platform layer while maintaining accountability for the overall engineering health of the product, participating in Agile ceremonies, ensuring alignment to roadmaps and timelines, and collaborating across all technology layers to deliver cohesive digital experiences.Required Skills & Experience - 10+ years of hands-on mobile development experience - 2+ years in a lead or technical leadership role - Expert proficiency in React Native, React, Expo/EAS, JavaScript/TypeScript - Working knowledge of native iOS development (Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, Objective-C, Swift Concurrency/Combine) - Working knowledge of native Android development (Kotlin/Java, Android SDK, Jetpack) - Strong understanding of brownfield host-shell / mobile micro-frontend patterns, RN New Architecture (TurboModules/Fabric), Native Modules, and typed host bridge contracts - Experience with modern state management (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, Jotai) - Deep knowledge of performance optimization, memory management, and multithreading across cross-platform and native environments - Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX, accessibility, and responsive design - Proficiency with Git and version control workflows (GitFlow, trunk-based) - Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams - Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitrise, Fastlane) - Experience with testing: Jest/RNTL (unit), Detox/XCUITest/Espresso (E2E), contract tests for native/RN bridge - Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills - Experience with cloud platforms (Firebase, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) - Knowledge of App Store and Play Store submission processes - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with product, design, and delivery teams - Strong end-to-end accountability and a track record of taking delivery fully to completion - Clear ownership mindset — not someone who leaves delivery responsibility with another organization
