Flexo/Gravure Apprentice

Job Description While this posting is for an apprentice role, we are actively hiring across multiple levels. Candidates with higher-level experience may be considered for advanced positions based on qualifications.What You'll Do• Ensures all duties, responsibilities, housekeeping habits, fire prevention, and safety procedures are understood and followed• Maintains acceptable quality of pressmanship• Recognizes routine press problems and takes necessary steps to correct them• Meets machine and labor utilization standards set for the position• Performs changeovers on routine jobs with minimal assistance• Assists in press operation and training activities as required• Makes decisions on when to stop press for correction of defects and restarts efficiently• Inspects roll samples for print quality including color standards, register, and other defects• Utilizes measurement tools such as spectrophotometer, densitometer, glossmeter, and gauge• Advises leadman or supervisor of operational problems and requests assistance when needed• Communicates effectively with incoming shift personnel to ensure continuity of operations• Coordinates work of production support personnel• Assists supervisor in all matters as required• Promotes principles of SMED within the departmentOperations / Compliance• Carries out all company safe operating, sanitation and housekeeping policies• Strives to raise quality level of work, facilitate production, and minimize waste• Maintains press, press areas, and accessory equipment in clean and good working order• Solves routine mechanical press problems and makes adjustments as requiredTools & Systems• N/AWhat You Bring• Mechanically inclined, alert, and conscientious• Ability to exercise good judgment in solving operational problems• Ability to follow directions and instructions• Ability to direct activities of pressmen and helpersWhy Join Us• Competitive pay: $21.16–$21.86/hour• Benefits:o Health, dental, and vision insuranceo 401(k)o Paid time offSchedule & Work Environment• Must be able to work weekends and possible evening and night shift• Must be available for call-ins• Overtime may be requiredLocation Requirements• Must be able to commute to Baltic, CTAdditional InformationThis job description is not exhaustive and duties may change at any time.Safety Requirements• Follow all company safety, sanitation, and housekeeping policiesCompany DescriptionAmgraph Packaging, Inc. is a leading packaging manufacturer specializing in high-quality, innovative print solutions.
