Job#: 3032314Job Description:Job Title: Information Security Engineer - Network SecurityLocation: Irving, TX and Charlotte, NC (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite Required (Mandatory))Contract Length: *18 Months (Backfill) – Possibility to Extend or ConvertPay Rate: $53 - $57Note: We are unable to consider C2C or third-party submissions.Role OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer focused on network security to support enterprise firewall infrastructure. This role involves the implementation, troubleshooting, migration, and ongoing support of firewalls, primarily Palo Alto and Fortinet. The engineer will work in a multi-vendor environment, supporting project-based initiatives such as new firewall builds, decommissions, and replacements. This is an infrastructure-focused security role requiring hands-on technical expertise.Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures. Build, replace, decommission, and modify enterprise firewalls. Perform firewall migrations using tools such as Expedition, FortiConverter, and SmartMove. Conduct security policy analysis, rulebase optimization, and threat prevention tuning. Troubleshoot complex firewall and network security issues. Review logs and monitoring data using Splunk and other enterprise monitoring tools. Collaborate with network, cloud, infrastructure, and application teams. Support multiple concurrent projects and maintain technical documentation. Participate in a rotational on-call schedule for after-hours support. Required QualificationsExperience: 4+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, supporting moderately complex enterprise initiatives. 5+ years of infrastructure firewall experience in large enterprise environments. Hands-on implementation and troubleshooting experience with Palo Alto Networks and Fortinet. Experience performing firewall configuration, security policy design, rulebase optimization, and firewall hardening. Experience reviewing and troubleshooting logs using Splunk and other monitoring tools. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Check Point firewalls. Exposure to automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, Terraform). Familiarity with cloud security architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP). Industry certifications such as PCNSA/PCNSE, Fortinet NSE 4/5, or CCSA/CCSE. Experience working in large financial services or regulated environments.
