Job Description Payroll & Benefits AdministratorSchedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PMHiring TimelineStrong priority to hire as soon as possibleRole OverviewThis position manages a range of payroll complexities, including commission structures and off-cycle terminations, while overseeing benefits administration for a large, multi-plan population. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, numerically strong, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where accuracy is essential.ResponsibilitiesProcess payroll for approximately 225 employees, including:Quarterly payroll cyclesCommission-based compensationOff-cycle terminations and adjustmentsAdminister employee benefits across three benefit plans covering roughly 1,300 lives, including premium management and a 4% employer matchOversee leave administration and timekeeping processesEnsure compliance with California labor laws, internal policies, and payroll regulationsPerform extensive spreadsheet work, including data reconciliation and audit preparationManage high-volume email correspondence with strong professionalism and clarityIdentify discrepancies and resolve data issues prior to processing payroll or benefits updatesSystems & ToolsPaylocity (strongly preferred; candidates with ADP-only experience may face a learning curve)Microsoft OutlookMicrosoft TeamsAdvanced Excel and spreadsheet analysisFast, accurate typing skillsStrong aptitude for numbers with a payroll-accuracy mindsetNaturally detail-oriented and known for catching small discrepancies before they become issuesComfortable working directly with brokers and benefits vendorsExperience improving or automating processes; understands system logic and workflowsBenefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
