This is not just a two week assignment.Complete DescriptionContractor will be responsible for purchasing parking through VDOT s Parking Management Office or procuring their own parking.Important Note:This is not a projectmanager, technical developer, coding, architecture, or IT engineering position.The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with data management experiencewho can coach, guide, and coordinate stewardship activities.Enterprise Data Steward JobDescriptionThe Enterprise Data Steward willsupport VDOT s Data Program by working directly with assigned data stewardsacross the agency to strengthen data management practices, improve dataquality, and prepare datasets for quality measurement within our datagovernance tool. In this role, the staff member will facilitate regularmeetings with division-level stewards, guide them through required stewardshipactivities, assist in developing scoping documentation, data dictionaries, andbusiness rules. The staff member will also provide training and hands-onsupport to build data literacy and stewardship competency. This position servesas the primary liaison between assigned business divisions and the agency sData Program, ensuring stewardship activities are well-coordinated, consistent,and aligned with enterprise data quality priorities. The work focuses oncoaching, coordination, and applying data management expertise to help stewardsprepare their datasets for enterprise data quality measurement.Key Responsibilities andRequired AbilitiesCoordinate and support assigneddata stewards by facilitating monthly checkins, guiding the creation ofrequired artifacts (scoping, data dictionaries, business rules), serving as theprimary liaison between divisions and the Data Program, and assisting stewardsin preparing datasets for data quality measurement within the agency s data governance tool.Provide training, coaching, andsupport on data management, data quality concepts, and data stewardshippractices.Support agencywide data qualityand stewardship by providing subjectarea guidance for defining andmeasuring data quality, collaborating with system owners and SMEs to resolvecomplex data issues, promoting data literacy and consistent data managementpractices, and ensuring stewardship activities follow established standards,frameworks, and governance processes.Knowledge and Experience NeededStrong understanding of datamanagement principles, data quality concepts, and stewardship processes.Ability to communicate clearlyverbally and in writing, facilitate group discussions, and guide non-technicalstaff in data-related work.Experience helping users createor improve data dictionaries, business rules, or similar documentation.Ability to coordinate activitiesacross divisions, manage priorities, and maintain organized documentation.Experience working in datagovernance, data stewardship, or a similar business-facing data role.Tools & Additional SkillsFamiliarity with Collibra(preferred but not required; training can be provided).Proficiency with standardproductivity tools (Excel, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).Required/Desired SkillsSkill Required/Desired Amount of Experience Familiarity with Collibra Nice to have 5.0 Years Proficiency with standard productivity tools (Excel, SharePoint, Teams, etc.). Required 10.0 Years Knowledge in Data Management, Data Quality, and Data Stewardship. Required 8.0 Years
