This role is designed for individuals enrolled in or recently graduated from a technical school or trade program and provides hands-on experience working alongside experienced technicians in real customer environments.How You Will Do ItAssist with testing and inspection of fire alarm and life safety systems for new and existing customersLearn and follow established inspection and testing procedures under direct supervisionAccurately document work performed using company-provided tools and systemsAdhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and training requirementsFollow verbal and written instructions from lead technicians and supervisorsSafely carry and move tools and equipment weighing up to 70 lbsPerform work in a variety of physical positions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and using lift equipmentSupport work on alternative shifts or weekends as needed to meet customer requirementsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all timesRequired QualificationsWhat we look forCurrently enrolled in a technical school program related to electrical, fire protection, or life safety systemsAbility and willingness to perform physical labor in field environmentsStrong attention to detail and eagerness to learn new skillsBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and smartphone applicationsEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to follow instructions and work well as part of a teamHigh School Diploma or equivalentValid Driver’s LicenseCommitment to working safely and professionallyPreferred QualificationsPrior hands-on exposure to electrical, fire alarm, or life safety systems through coursework, labs, or internshipsFamiliarity with basic hand tools and testing equipmentInterest in pursuing NICET certification or a long-term career in Fire & Life SafetyWhy join usAt Johnson Controls, we invest early in future technicians and leaders.
