Nurse Position At The Arc Eastern ConnecticutThe Arc Eastern Connecticut has been providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities for more than 60 years. We actively champion for full community inclusion and are a licensed and contracted service provider of the Connecticut Department of Development Services. We provide residential, daytime, employment, and social supports to people with IDD and their families. Come join our team!Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The Nurse is responsible for all aspects of nursing care, medications, and implementing agency policies and procedures to ensure the safety/wellbeing of individuals with IDD. Will be available for consultation regarding first aid, medical needs and emergency care of individuals. Will ensure compliance with all state and regulatory reporting requirements. Will represent staff in-services relationg to medications and nursing issues.Schedule:Salary - Mon-Fri - On Call - Based on the need on the HomesWork Location:Dayville, CTMinimum Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited school of NursingMinimum of 3-5yrs exp. in a clinical setting, preferably serving individuals with developmental and physical disabilitiesExperience with Department of Development Services regulations, forms, and protocolsProficiency with Microsoft Office suitCurrent State of CT RN LicenseThe Nurse must be able to lift a minimum of 50 poundsMay be exposed to the risk of injury or exposure to occupational health hazardsEssential Functions:Ensures confidentiality as required by Law, The Arc ECT, and DDS policies and procedures which includes keeping records, conversations, correspondence (regarding program participants and staff) confidential.Expectations:Responsible for all aspects of nursing care and medications to all individuals served by The Arc Eastern CT.Treats all individuals in an age-appropriate manner, with respect and dignityMaintains a professional and positive attitude when working with staffWorks with a spirit of cooperation with all departmentsCarries own malpractice insuranceCarries out all job responsibilities in a professional mannerMaintains attendance.
