Commercial Operations Manager
ResponsibilitiesStep beyond traditional property management and into a dynamic portfolio-wide operations role supporting a Class A commercial real estate portfolio. This position is ideal for a highly adaptable operator who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex challenges, and can balance strategy with hands-on execution.Partnering closely with senior leadership, you will help drive operational excellence across the portfolio—supporting process improvements, property operations, financial performance, cross-functional initiatives, and property-level coverage when needed. This is a unique opportunity to make a visible impact across multiple assets while helping shape best practices and elevate the overall tenant experience.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Operational ExcellenceAssist in the design, implementation, and monitoring of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operational best practices, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and a Class A+ level of service across the commercial portfolioOptimize operational systems, tools, and platforms by identifying opportunities and inefficiencies, and implementing solutions to improve overall performance and workflowIn coordination with senior leadership, support operational procurement and contracting, including bid processes, negotiation, and service delivery oversight.Portfolio Coverage & Field SupportProvide operational support across the portfolio as needed, stepping into property-level gaps at the Assistant General Manager or General Manager level based on business needs and team coverage.Support the operational onboarding of new properties entering the portfolio, including systems set up, vendor transitions and alignment with portfolio standards.Serve as a portfolio-level resource for property teams on escalated operational issues, providing guidance, troubleshooting support, and resolution assistance in a timely manner.Facilitate best practice sharing across property teams by identifying what is working well at individual assets and supporting the replication of those practices across the broader portfolio.Portfolio Initiatives & Performance TrackingAssist with and help drive portfolio-wide initiatives, operational rollouts, audits, and cross-functional projects and process improvements.Track KPIs to measure adoption, performance, and success of operational initiatives across the portfolioContribute to the preparation of operational reports, dashboards, and executive-level summaries to communicate portfolio performance, initiative progress and key findings to senior leadership.Change Management & AdoptionDevelop training, communication, and onboarding materials to support the rollout of new processes, systems, and programs at the property level.Act as a liaison between property teams and corporate functions to ensure alignment, clear two-way communication, and consistent execution.Build and maintain strong relationships across the organization, ensuring honest, timely, and transparent communication at all levels.Financial Management & BudgetingSupport expense management efforts, including ongoing assessment of vendor contracts, service agreements, and property-level functions to optimize cost efficiency.Monitor vendor and contractor performance against established SLAs and contract terms, flagging deficiencies and supporting corrective action in coordination with property teams and procurement.Support portfolio annual operating budgets; analyze financial statements on an ongoing basis, including review of variance reports and reforecasts to revenue, expenses, and capital expenditure.Contribute to annual business planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes in coordination with Finance and Asset Management.Business Strategy & Cross-Functional SupportPartner cross-functionally with Property Management, Accounting, Finance, Asset Management, IT, Engineering, Procurement, and other corporate and field teams to support operational initiatives, resolve issues, and drive consistent execution across the portfolio.Support strategic planning efforts by providing insights, data analysis, and recommendations on operational improvements and service enhancements.CompensationThe anticipated base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $135,000 plus discretionary bonus.
