Specialty Metals Processing, part of the Ryerson family of companies, has an opportunity for a Machine Operator. As a Machine Operator you are responsible for machine set up, part processing and part inspection. The future will be made from metal. The hours for this position are Monday – Friday from 3:30 pm to 1:00 am. Roles and Responsibilities: Set-up & shutdown of machine Scrap management for remnants Material inspection to ensure quality specifications Calibration of measuring equipment Ensuring size material finish and accuracy of the finished goods Working in a safe manner as outlined during training and use prescribed safety equipment including PPE All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice Position Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent Some machine operations experience preferred Strong ability to read mechanical drawings and use precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges) Must be safety conscious and a team player Exerting 20 to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 lbs. of force frequently, and greater than negligible up to 10 lbs. of force constantly, to move objects Successfully pass the Ramsay Corporation Combined Basic Skills Assessment which evaluates your reading, math, inspection & measurement, and process monitoring & problem-solving skills Experience Required: Less than 1 year Education Required: Not Indicated
