The organization was founded in 1972 to serve the needs of vulnerable populations throughout New York City.Position SummaryThe Youth Worker will be an energetic individual who will assist the Group Leader or Instructor during Summer Rising and support the program curriculum. The Youth Workers will facilitate activities but not limited to homework help, arts & crafts, sports, health & fitness, nutrition, dance, and STEM education. Youth workers will be responsible for the implementation of the diverse activities that will be offered to our program participants.Essential Functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to:Ensure the health, safety and well-being of the participants in the program by providing close supervision of all activitiesWill help the Group Leaders supervise, participate in and administer recreational activities for youth, and familiesProvide a safe and fun environment for participants in the After-School ProgramAssisting in the implementation of a variety of age-appropriate and theme related activitiesAssist with distribution and collection of parent surveysWork cooperatively with peers, professional staff, and other departmentsMaintain equipment, storage facilities and inventoryWork closely with the program administration to ensure best practices/program qualityConsults with the Program Director when difficult or unfamiliar situations ariseActively participate in all training’s sessions, designated meetings and special eventsWill maintain a close relationship and report to the Program Director and the Assistant Director for delegated tasks and future assignmentsCompletes all job-related tasks and uses program time effectively during schedule working hoursQualifications: A high school diploma or GED requiredAt least one year of relevant experience in an educational or childcare settingPowered by JazzHREVhrbmtzSG
