Mainframe Software Development Engineer in Test
Overview Experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) responsible for planning, designing, developing and executing tests for software enhancements and bug fixes in a mainframe computing environment. The role involves validating mainframe-based applications, participating in Agile development, and delivering high-quality software aligned with user needs and business objectives.
Responsibilities Perform validation and verification testing of new features and product fixes.
Develop and execute high-quality software tests in a continuous integration environment.
Implement and maintain robust test automation pipelines.
Assess code coverage, identify and resolve testing gaps.
Automate tasks using appropriate tools and scripting.
Keep test pipelines current with latest technologies.
Provide Quality Assurance subject-matter expertise in Agile teams.
Coordinate with management and internal teams.
Qualifications Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience.
Practical experience in a mainframe development and testing environment.
Analytical mind with strong problem-solving aptitude.
Proficiency with Job Control Language (JCL) for batch workloads.
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, JSON, REXX).
Proficiency in CI/CD test automation frameworks (Jenkins).
Strong understanding of security protocols and ESMs.
Experience with REST API automation (RestAssured) – plus.
Experience with Java and JavaScript/TypeScript – plus.
Experience with JUnit/TestNG frameworks – plus.
Experience with JMeter for stress and load testing – plus.
Compensation & Benefits The annual base salary range for this position is USD 109,700.00 to USD 175,500.00. Eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and annual equity awards.
