Transportation Project Manager

As a Transportation Project Manager focused on roadway and highway projects in Texas, you will lead the planning, design, and delivery of major transportation initiatives across the state. This role places primary emphasis on project management, client leadership, and program oversight while leveraging your deep technical background to guide multidisciplinary teams. You will serve as a trusted partner to Texas DOT, counties, municipalities, and regional agencies while helping grow Jacobs' transportation presence across Texas.What You Will Do- You will provide full project management leadership for transportation projects from early planning through final design, construction support, and closeout. This includes responsibility for scope development, schedules, budgets, risk management, and quality delivery.- You will oversee and coordinate roadway and highway projects such as interchanges, arterial roadways, managed lanes, and multimodal corridors throughout Texas.- You will manage and integrate all contributing disciplines including roadway geometry, drainage and hydraulics, environmental documentation, surveying, geotechnical services, right of way, utilities, and public involvement.- You will lead conceptual and schematic development, review environmental studies, and oversee Plans, Specifications, and Estimates for final design.- You will support procurement efforts including development of scopes, task orders, and design and construction procurement documents for both Design Bid Build and Design Build delivery.- You will guide teams through funding and approval processes including documentation required for Texas DOT and Federal Highway Administration coordination.- You will serve as the primary client-facing leader, proactively identifying issues, solving complex problems, and maintaining strong relationships with Texas transportation agencies.- You will mentor project managers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative culture focused on accountability, growth, and excellence.- You will contribute to business development by supporting pursuits, expanding client relationships, and helping grow Jacobs' transportation practice across Texas.- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.- Texas Professional Engineer license.- Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in transportation engineering with significant responsibility as a project manager.- Demonstrated experience managing roadway and highway projects for Texas DOT, counties, or municipalities.- Strong understanding of transportation project delivery including planning, environmental, design, and construction support.- Well-rounded technical background with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.- Proficiency with Civil 3D or MicroStation and OpenRoads.- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and client expectations on complex projects.Ideally You Will Also Have- Experience delivering transportation projects in Texas.- Strong working knowledge of the Texas transportation market and established client relationships.- Experience leading Design Build and Design Bid Build projects.- A passion for mentoring and developing high-performing project teams.- A collaborative leadership style with a focus on quality, accountability, and client service.Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
