POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for selling fruits and vegetables (including potatoes and onions) to national accounts, selling new accounts, helping with routing trucks, driver’s schedules, and offering input on writing of weekly Ad lists. Requirements:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Contributing to the attainment of sales and profit goals for the company and achieving individual sales and margin objectives for assigned customers and new business prospectsProvide inside sales support for current retail accounts by calling specific retailers on their respective order daysThis will require excellent telephone selling skills and complete familiarity with the Alsum line of products and distribution capabilitiesTravel to sales calls on an as needed basis for resets or account relationsUp to two or three days per week will be for field sales calls to assigned new business prospects to develop new customers and markets for expansion and growthWill be able to assist with general sales order entry on an as needed basisWork with sales team on special projectsPrepare account presentations and business reviewsDevelop personal skills and experience in sales, customer service, computer knowledge, truck routing and scheduling, and customer communication to maximize productivity and sales outputPerform other related duties as necessary or assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High School diploma or equivalentAssociate or bachelor’s degree in business or marketing is preferred, but not requiredFive to ten years of retail grocery or foodservice experience, preferably in produce or other perishablesJOB DETAILS:Job Type: Full TimeWork Location: Friesland, WIREQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Strong communications skills and analytical abilityComputer experience and ability to prepare account presentationsPositive attitude with track record of success in salesAbility to get results in sales of fresh produce commodities in a competitive retail and foodservice environmentUnderstanding of developing relationships with customers and providing excellent customer serviceSelf-motivated and able to function as part of a teamValid state motor vehicle license with acceptable motor vehicle recordPHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:The ability to sit/stand in one place for extended periodsVarious repetitive movementsGood manual dexterity to perform required dutiesExposure to airborne particles or fumesMust be able to occasionally lift product for trade events or customer serviceWe are an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace.PI065e1577665e-37483-39603171
