Sous Chef
River Club of Mequon is seeking a motivated and skilled Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in overseeing daily culinary operations. This role plays a key part in maintaining high standards of food quality, kitchen organization, and team leadership while delivering exceptional dining experiences for members, guests, and private events.Essential ResponsibilitiesAssist the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operationsSupervise and support kitchen staff during food preparation and serviceEnsure food quality, presentation, and consistency meet club standardsAssist with inventory management, ordering, and food cost controlMaintain proper food handling and sanitation standards in accordance with health regulationsHelp train and mentor kitchen staff to promote a positive and efficient work environmentAssist with banquet and event food preparation as neededEnsure kitchen areas remain clean, organized, and well maintainedQualifications2+ years of culinary experience in a restaurant, club, or hospitality environmentPrevious leadership or supervisory experience preferredStrong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation practicesAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentFlexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
