This position directly supports the Rides Manager with efficient operation of the department which provides a positive guest experience.This position requires strong leadership skills to answer questions and help coach and train other Ride Hosts for the operating season. This position will also conduct daily audits to ensure sure the park’s safety and operating policies are being properly followed.We Are Currently Looking For aStory Land - Ride Lead (Seasonal)Roles & ResponsibilitiesRoles and Responsibilities:Supervisory DutiesAssist with the daily supervision of the Rides team and any other assigned departmentsLead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Story Land’s core valuesAct as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned hostsBecome knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all rides positions and backfill these positions when neededParticipate in new-hire orientation and training activities for all assigned hostsEnsure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with New Hampshire lawAssist with team scheduling and timekeeping activitiesDepartmental DutiesEnsure a smooth and continuous operation of all assigned rides and attractionsProvides direct support to other rides hosts by making rounds throughout the park to check on their needsProvide coverage so that hosts may take bathroom breaksMaintain a vast knowledge of all rides in the park and can jump in to assist or operate, when necessaryOversees guest feedback and escalates complaints or issues to the proper authorities, when appropriateEnforce Park policies, ride restrictions and ride recommendationsEnsure safe operation of the ride by always adhering to standard operating procedures and established trainingsReport rides-related issues and failures to Park Leadership and Maintenance teams in a prompt mannerMaintain constant vigilance to proactively identify potential hazards and informs park leadership of any concernsProtect guest belongings, turns in lost and found items as soon as time allowsPromptly notify the security team or the park operator of host and guest injuries or emergenciesAll other duties assigned by leadershipEducation & ExperienceThere is no minimum education requirement.1+ season of work experience in the Rides Department is required. Previous ride operation experience from other Amusement/Theme Park employers will also be considered.All Rides Team Members must go through the International Ride Operator Certification (iROC) course as a part of the training. Successful course completion is required for this position. There is no cost to the host for the course.Languages: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.RequirementsMust be at least 17 years of age to comply with New Hampshire Child Labor LawsAbility to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysAbility to comply with all uniform policiesMust possess safety-oriented mindset and understand the importance of complying with all Federal, State, and local regulations regarding ride operationMust demonstrate a willingness to learn and ability to follow instructionsMust be guest-focused and also work well with other hosts and supervisorsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, or squat for long periods of timeAbility to reach above shoulders throughout the workdayAbility to remain on feet for majority of the workdayAbility to climb or descend stairs for some coasters, rides, and attractionsAbility to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or moreAbility to see details of objects that are more than a few feet awayWorking Conditions Frequent interaction a variety of motorized and chain-driven rides and attractionsFrequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain and other weather conditionsFrequent exposure to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, vibrations, and heavily populated environmentsWorking at Story Land is about making people happy!
