VMware Administrator / VMware Engineer
Hello Folks,Role: VMware Administrator / VMware EngineerWork Location: Phoenix, AZKey ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, administer, and maintain VMware ESXi hosts and VMware vCenter Server environments.Provision and manage virtual machines (VMs), templates, snapshots, cloning, and resource allocation.Monitor VMware infrastructure health, availability, and performance; troubleshoot and resolve issues proactively.Configure and manage VMware High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), and vMotion.Perform capacity planning and optimize compute, memory, and storage utilization across clusters.Implement and support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions for virtual environments.Apply patches, firmware updates, and VMware Lifecycle Manager remediation activities.Collaborate with server, storage, security, and networking teams for seamless infrastructure integration.Support virtualization and migration projects including P2V, V2V, and datacenter modernization initiatives.Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.Ensure compliance with security standards, patch management policies, and operational best practices.Participate in on-call support and incident response activities when required. Required Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.6+ years of hands-on experience administering VMware environments in enterprise settings.Strong expertise in:VMware vSphereVMware ESXiVMware vCenter ServervMotion, HA, and DRSVMware Lifecycle ManagerExperience with SAN/NAS storage technologies and storage provisioning concepts.Good understanding of Windows and Linux server administration.Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and switching concepts.Experience with backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced production environments.Preferred QualificationsVMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification.Experience with:VMware HorizonVMware NSXVMware vSANExposure to cloud platforms such as:Amazon Web Services (AWS)Microsoft (Azure)VMware CloudScripting and automation experience using:PowerShellPowerCLIPythonFamiliarity with infrastructure monitoring and automation tools.
