*URGENT HIRING – Mainframe z/OS System Programmer* *Location:* Phoenix, AZ / Plano, TX / Charlotte, NC *Work Model:* Hybrid – 3 Days/Week Onsite *Experience:* 10+ Years *Work Authorization:* Any Visa Top Skills * *IBM z/OS System Programming & Administration* * *z/OS Installation, Upgrades, Maintenance & IPL* * *JES2/JES3, PARMLIB, PROCLIB & System Initialization* * RMF, SMF & SDSF Performance Monitoring * RACF / System Security & Compliance * TSO/E, ISPF & USS * System REXX / CLIST * SA z/OS / NetView * CA7 / Control-M * ITIL / Change & Release Management Responsibilities * Install, configure, maintain, and optimize *IBM z/OS operating systems* supporting mission-critical enterprise environments. * Perform z/OS upgrades, migrations, and maintenance including *PTFs, APARs, and RSUs*. * Manage IPL processes, system initialization, PARMLIB, PROCLIB, and SYS1 datasets. * Monitor system health and performance using *RMF, SMF, and SDSF*. * Install, configure, and support JES2/JES3, TSO/E, ISPF, USS, and system-level services. * Collaborate with DB2, CICS, IMS, MQ, Storage, and Security teams for integrated mainframe support. * Analyze system performance and implement tuning and resource optimization improvements. * Support capacity planning across CPU, memory, and I/O resources. * Diagnose system abends, failures, outages, and other complex system-level issues. * Perform root cause analysis and coordinate with IBM and technology vendors for problem resolution. * Develop and maintain automation using *System REXX, CLIST, SA z/OS, and NetView*. * Support job scheduling tools such as CA7 and Control-M where applicable. * Support RACF-aligned security configurations, vulnerability remediation, patching, and compliance requirements. * Execute changes through ITIL-based processes and prepare implementation, backout, and validation plans. * Support weekend maintenance windows and IPL activities. * Maintain system configuration documentation, SOPs, and Disaster Recovery plans.
