Traveling Wind Turbine Technician

To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.Desired Skills, Experience & RequirementsTroubleshoot and repair problems on variable speed/variable pitch wind turbinesPerform all mechanical and electrical component maintenance, and repair and replace components as requiredElectrical, hydraulic and mechanical fundamental skillsClimb 300 feet or more on a regular basisComplete required paperwork (e.g., service reports, time cards, expense reports, etc.)Exhibit positive, courteous behavior with customers, businesses and co-workersRead and understand electrical and hydraulic schematicsUse all mandated safety equipment and comply with all safety requirements, in accordance with company and government regulations and guidelinesComplete all required training in a satisfactory manner and timeframeParticipate in on-the-job training with on-site personnelWork weekends, holidays and overtime, as neededRegularly work 50+ hours a weekAssist in the training and development of lower-level operation and maintenance personnelBasic computer skillsAbility to travel for up to 6 weeks at a timeAbility to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis, and work in inclement weatherOSHA 10 or OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, First Aid/CPR, and tower rescue certificates preferredMust have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving recordWillingness to continually embrace personal and professional developmentWork 55-60 hours a week
