Receiving SpecialistLocation: Richmond, VirginiaSchedule: 40 hours/weekContract Dates: March 9, 2026 – May 16, 2026Position OverviewThe Receiving Specialist is responsible for receiving, verifying, recording, and delivering incoming shipments within a healthcare environment. This role ensures accurate tracking of purchase orders and inventory using automated systems and supports internal departments by delivering supplies promptly and securely.Key ResponsibilitiesReceive and verify incoming purchase orders using the MMIS systemResearch and resolve packages without purchase orders in a timely mannerRecord and track incoming and outgoing shipmentsUnpack, inspect, and verify deliveries for accuracy and damagePrepare items for transport and safely move materials throughout the facilityDeliver packages and supplies to the correct internal departmentsLoad, unload, and wrap items using pallet jacks and pallet jacketsMaintain inventory areas through cleaning, organizing, and securing materialsVerify purchase order and receipt accuracy in MMISCommunicate effectively with internal customers regarding deliveriesSupport and uphold diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the workplaceRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDBasic computer or handheld device proficiencyAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in EnglishAbility to work independently and adapt to frequent interruptionsPreferred QualificationsAt least 1 year of warehouse, logistics, or supply chain experienceExperience using inventory or materials management systems (MMIS preferred)Physical RequirementsFrequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting over 50 lbsPushing and pulling carts or palletsStanding, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and climbingWorking in varying environments including noise, temperature changes, and dustWorking ConditionsFast-paced environment with fluctuating workloadPeriods of working aloneExposure to noise, bright lighting, and outdoor conditionsMay handle medications and medical suppliesCore CompetenciesAttention to detail and record accuracyOrganization and inventory controlProblem solving and adaptabilityEffective communicationCultural responsiveness and inclusivityPride Health offers eligible employees comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with preferred vendors.
