Travel RN - Med/Surg Tele

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital in Macon, GA, requiring at least 2 years of Med/Tele experience and ACLS certification.Job Details• 12-hour night shifts, 7PM-7AM,• 16-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit with an average census of 16 patients,• Patient population includes chest pain, syncope, abdominal pain, COPD exacerbation, heart failure observation, hypertension, diabetes, simple trauma, and MVC patients; unit also receives ER patients awaiting inpatient admission beds,• RN-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6,• High patient turnover with rapid admission/discharge protocols in place,• Floating required to all adult Med/Surg Telemetry units within the facility,• Every-other-weekend rotation (approximately 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule),• No on-call requirements,• Holiday coverage expected for one shift each of Thanksgiving Day or day after, 12/24 or 12/25, and 12/31 or 1/1,• EMR: Epic (experience required),Job Requirements• Active GA or Compact RN license required,• Associate's degree in Nursing (minimum),• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required,• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS,• Proficiency with trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, Glucommander, insulin drips, heparin drips, and drips titrated to HR,• Strong cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation skills,• IV insertion and maintenance skills required,• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration,• At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN,Additional Information• Level 1 Trauma designated, academic teaching hospital with Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center designations,• Unit supports ER decompression by admitting patients waiting for inpatient beds,• Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) test is completed during onboarding,• Support staff includes CNAs, a unit secretary (on-unit 7AM-11PM), charge nurse, PICC team, discharge nurses, resource team, central telemetry monitoring technicians, phlebotomy, RT, hospitalist, and intensivist - all available 24/7,• Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Philips monitors, Glucommander, PCA pain management systems, bladder scanners, and portable vital signs monitors,• Orientation consists of 1 day of general facility orientation with educational modules followed by 2 days of departmental orientation,• RN scrub color is navy blue,• Free parking is available around campus,• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,• Local candidates are accepted - no radius rule applies for this GA facility,
