TM Floyd & Company is seeking an experienced Senior Database Analyst with deep expertise in SQL Server and PostgreSQL administration to support large-scale enterprise database environments.Work Authorization:No C2C candidatesNo visa transfers or sponsorship availableLocation Requirement:Candidates must be located in the Richmond, VA areaHybrid schedule: 1 week onsite/1 week remoteWhat We’re Looking For:5+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA and PostgreSQL DBA experienceStrong expertise in database performance tuning, monitoring, backup/recovery, and query optimizationExperience supporting enterprise production environments across Windows and Linux platformsHands-on experience with SQL Server 2012+ and PostgreSQL 11+HA/DR administration and support experienceExperience with Azure, AWS RDS, and hybrid cloud database environmentsScripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automationStrong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skillsKey Responsibilities:Support day-to-day SQL Server and PostgreSQL operations across Azure, Linux, and Windows environmentsMonitor and optimize database performance and query executionManage backup, recovery, restores, patching, and upgradesSupport HA/DR configurations and enterprise monitoring toolsCollaborate with application and infrastructure teams to resolve complex database issuesParticipate in a 24x7 on-call rotationIdeal Candidate Profile:The ideal candidate is a highly experienced, hands-on Database Administrator who thrives in complex, enterprise-scale environments and brings deep expertise across both SQL Server and PostgreSQL platforms. They are confident working in hybrid infrastructures spanning on-prem, Azure, and AWS, and have a strong track record of ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and data reliability.This individual is proactive in identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, skilled in both query and system-level tuning, and comfortable supporting mission-critical production systems with minimal downtime. They are equally strong in operational execution and strategic thinking, with the ability to design and maintain robust backup, recovery, and HA/DR solutions.Beyond technical depth, the ideal candidate is collaborative and communicative—able to work effectively with application teams, infrastructure engineers, and business stakeholders.
