Plant Health Technician

Plant Health TechnicianJOB SUMMARYDrive, operate and maintain a tractor/sprayer or similar farm machinery in order to spray ornamentals and shrubs for control of insects, diseases and nutritional deficiencies. Correctly mix tanks with designated chemicals and spray indicated area being certain to maintain proper application speed and coverage. Clean and maintain all spray filters daily and clean nozzles as needed. Be certain all safety shields and covers are in correct working order before using equipment. Follow all company, State and Federal regulations when handling/storing chemicals and as directed by the manufacturer. Constantly maintain all chemical application records and logs..If you are seeking a temporary employment opportunity instead, please email hrsupport@cherrylake.com or stop by the main office to complete an employment application.JOB FUNCTIONSSafely operate spray equipment in accordance with CL's procedures and regulations.Consistently and accurately maintain all chemical application records and logs.Properly mix tanks as prescribed in work order and spray indicated area being certain to maintain proper application speed and coverage.Clean and maintain filters daily and clean nozzles as needed.Perform light preventative maintenance and service of equipment and clean daily.Effectively and efficiently complete all other duties given by management.All other duties assigned and special projectsREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEPrior Pesticide spraying experience in nursery or citrus industry.Working knowledge of pesticide applications and chemical application equipment.One or more years of working experience in the area of horticulture, agribusiness, and landscaping or nursery production.High school graduate with the ability to read, write and perform numerical calculations.Candidates must display time management and organizational skills with a standard of quality assurance.Working knowledge of tree identification ranging from, but not limited to, type, species, specification and container size.Ability to plan and organize work according to Plant Health Supervisor orders while maintaining task-on-time schedules.Able to effectively communicate with a wide variety of departments in a concise, professional manner.Ability to effectively communicate verbally, via text, and email.Ability to record information through a handheld mobile device. Ability to operate a tablet and utilize technology.Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.REQUIRED LICENSES / HOURS OF WORK AND EXPERIENCEValid Driver's License with clean MVR.Private Applicators License Florida a plusISA Certified Arborist or FNGLA Horticulture Professional a plus.Commercial Pesticide Applicators' license a plus.Monday through Friday, 3pm-11pm. Saturday varies. 40+ hours per work week.Schedules can be flexible in order to work around varying weather conditions.Hours Varied, depending on organizational and weather conditions.Must be able to work nights and work on weekends as needed.NOTICECHERRYLAKE, INC.
