Title: Microbiologist IType: TemporaryLocation: Crete, IL 60417Duration: 6+ month AssignmentShift: Tuesday to Saturday starting at 12:00pm, ending when department closes (between 8:30 - 11:00pm depending on sample volume)Job Description:The incumbent is responsible for the testing of samples using various microbiological analyses. Ensures laboratory procedures are performed within specified quality guidelines, acting as a technical resource providing ongoing support for method and process implementations.Responsibilities:Follow appropriate methods and SOPs, maintaining quality control records.Read, calculate, and record data in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).Perform rapid test methods and confirmation tests on suspect samples to identify bacteria strains.Read, enter, and evaluate process control samples.Maintain knowledge of LIMS required for job responsibilities.Support root cause analysis investigations and suggest corrective actions.Prepare samples for analysis, weigh, blend, and record data.Support corporate quality and continuous improvement processes.Support department inventory management system.Participate in cleaning schedule and maintain retain samples.Perform preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.Keep up-to-date on assigned training.Adhere to all safety policies.Responsibilities:Support laboratory management in the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the management system.Perform other related tasks as needed.Behave and operate in an ethical and Code of Conduct compliant manner.
