Certified Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control InspectorMarion County, SC & Surrounding CountiesInfrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is currently seeking a skilled Inspector to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) team based in Marion, SC. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting transportation projects in collaboration with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT).Position ResponsibilitiesEnsure all materials, procedures and safety rules comply with the latest SCDOT standards.Inspect project for erosion control and record erosion control reports.Interact and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.Attend meetings and interact with SCDOT and third-party personnel.Must use diplomacy in difficult and stressful situations.Qualifications And RequirementsHS diploma or equivalent required.Associates or BS Degree in Civil Engineering or Survey desired.2 or more years of highway construction or asphalt plant experience preferred.Certified Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control Inspector (CEPSCI) SCDOT Certification is required.Must have math calculation skills, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience.Strong written and communication skills required.Current driver’s license with safe 3-year driving record is required.Must be legally authorized to work in the US.Physical DemandsThis position requires minimal lifting of up to 50 pounds sometimes on a frequent basis. The inspector must be able to travel and tour work sites under adverse environmental conditions not limited to loud noise levels, high dust and dirt, and extreme temperatures. The inspector must be able to visually examine construction materials and finished structures. The inspector must be able to work in various types of weather and field conditions, including heights, uneven terrain, highway traffic, hazards of highway construction sites and heavy equipment.Expected Hours of WorkThis position will be a full-time position that may require travel, extended work hours from sun up to sun down. Weekend work may be required based on the project schedule.
