Earthwork and Grading Foreman

Earthwork & Grading ForemanDelaware Valley Paving has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Earthwork & Grading Foreman to lead field operations within our excavation division. This role is responsible for overseeing daily earthwork, grading, excavation, and site development activities while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards.The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong knowledge of sitework operations, equipment coordination, grade control, and crew management who can effectively communicate with operators, laborers, subcontractors, and project management teams.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate daily earthwork and grading operations on commercial and heavy civil construction projectsLead crews performing excavation, rough grading, fine grading, trenching, backfilling, and site preparationRead and interpret plans, blueprints, grades, and specificationsCoordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, utility contractors, surveyors, and subcontractorsEnsure projects remain on schedule while maintaining productivity and quality standardsOperate and oversee GPS machine control and grade stake interpretation when applicableMonitor jobsite safety and enforce company safety policies and OSHA standardsConduct daily jobsite planning, safety talks, and crew assignmentsCoordinate equipment, trucking, materials, and manpower needsIdentify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize delaysMaintain accurate daily reports, production tracking, and documentationTrain and mentor crew members and equipment operatorsEnsure proper care and maintenance of equipment and toolsQualifications5+ years of experience in excavation, grading, and site development operationsPrevious foreman or crew leadership experience strongly preferredStrong understanding of earthmoving operations, site balancing, drainage, and grading techniquesAbility to read construction plans, elevations, and grade stakesExperience working with GPS machine control systems preferredStrong communication, leadership, and organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced construction environment and adapt to changing field conditionsKnowledge of OSHA safety regulations and excavation safety practicesValid driver’s license required; CDL preferredBilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirablePreferred ExperienceCommercial site developmentHeavy civil constructionUtility excavation and stormwater installationRoadway and paving preparationCoordination of multiple crews and subcontractorsPhysical RequirementsAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsAbility to stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift up to 50 poundsAbility to work extended hours and occasional weekends as project demands requireWhy Join Delaware Valley Paving?Competitive compensationGrowth opportunities within a rapidly expanding companyDiverse projects across multiple marketsTeam-oriented culture focused on safety, quality, and operational excellenceOpportunity to work with modern equipment and evolving construction technologyDelaware Valley Paving is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
