Domestic Air Freight SpecialistOur client is seeking a Domestic Air Freight Specialist to serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers. This role is responsible for overseeing project execution, ensuring seamless operations in customer service, shipment tracking, routing, issue resolution, vendor compliance, and client communications. The position reports directly to the Lead or Supervisor and plays a key role in daily freight management.Available Shifts:We are hiring for three different shifts to meet the needs of our client's 24/7 freight operations: Monday - Friday | 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM Tuesday - Saturday | Tuesday - Friday: 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM | Saturday: 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM Friday - Sunday | Friday: 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM | On Call - Saturday: 4:00 PM - Sunday 8:00 PM (with breaks) Must Have 3+ Years Domestic Air Freight ExperienceKey Responsibilities:Provide quotes, track, and trace domestic freight shipments via air and ground daily, ensuring timely and accurate routing of overhead shipments.Determine the most efficient transportation modes and services based on client specifications.Maintain proactive communication with customers to provide real-time shipment updates.Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to manage dispatching, routing, and rate negotiations.Assist sales and domestic offices in resolving air and ground freight-related issues.Oversee on-time performance metrics, carrier re-weights, and ensure all shipments are accurately rated.Assist in compiling weekly and monthly KPI reports tailored to customer requirements.Ensure accuracy in paperwork, labeling, and scanning processes.Manage high-priority shipments, including Next Flight Out (NFO), high-value, and time-sensitive deliveries.Respond to departmental calls and emails, ensuring timely and professional communication.Update and verify cost and sell rates for shipments not covered under existing quotes.Participate in a weekend on-call rotation as scheduled.Follow Domestic Operations SOPs, customer-specific guidelines, and any procedural updates.Work cross-functionally with other departments to ensure billing and file posting are completed before month-end deadlines.Engage in ongoing compliance training and software/regulatory certifications as required.Contribute to the development and refinement of SOPs for both department and customer-specific processes.Qualifications:Must have 3+ years of Domestic Air Freight experience.Strong customer service mindset, proactively addressing client needs and concerns.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional approach to business interactions.Ability to work effectively in a team environment, offering support and collaboration.Strong problem-solving skills, capable of evaluating multiple perspectives to make sound decisions.High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation, reporting, and operational execution.Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.Working knowledge of IATA and TSA regulations.IATA and 49CFR Dangerous Goods certification preferred.Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented approach.
