Transplant Nephrologist- faculty position
Position OverviewAssociate or Professor‑level Transplant Nephrologist to assist in expanding the kidney and kidney‑pancreas transplant program at The Medical College of Georgia – Augusta University.ResponsibilitiesAssist current transplant surgeons, transplant nephrologists, transplant pharmacist, nurses, nurse practitioners, and ancillary staff in providing care to kidney and kidney‑pancreas transplant candidates and recipients.Participate in clinical and translational research, planning and implementing research protocols to expand transplant research.Engage in outreach for living donation and paired donation programs and expand transplant opportunities in rural Georgia and South Carolina communities.Contribute to research on chronic allograft nephropathy, management of sensitized patients, post‑transplant malignancies, immune tolerance, immune modulation, and health‑care outcomes literacy.QualificationsMD or DO from an accredited institution.Completed an accredited Nephrology Transplant Fellowship Program and be board certified or board eligible in Nephrology.Minimum 1 year training in an accredited Transplant Nephrology Fellowship Training Program.Experience with transplantation preferred; established research experience encouraged.Academic RankAcademic rank will be commensurate with experience.Equal Opportunity StatementAugusta University is an equal opportunity employer welcoming applicants from underrepresented groups, including individuals with disabilities and veterans.
