Network Operations Center Engineer

Location: Colorado Springs, CO – Schriever Space Force BaseClearance Required: Active DoD Secret Travel: Up to 10% NOTE: This is not a remote position LaunchTech is seeking a Network Operations Center Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). This role ensures operational continuity, security, and performance across the enterprise network while providing 24x7x365 support to critical missions.What You’ll DoAs a Network Operations Center Engineer, you will:Support the MDA Enterprise under the Global Network Operation Support Center (GNOSC) management providing 24x7x365 Network Operations Center supportPerform operations and maintenance of the MDA general service network infrastructure, primarily troubleshooting and managing configurations on network routers, switches, encryptors, and firewallsConduct network and firewall engineering, monitoring, and administration functions as requiredProvide initial analysis and troubleshooting on issues identified with network monitoring tools and support end users with network-related issuesGenerate and provide status reports, perform network anomaly analysis, and develop engineering red lines to support maintenance actions, engineering changes/upgrades, and security vulnerabilitiesRespond to Remedy Incident Tickets, working with customers to resolve network communication issuesProvide Test/Event support as neededWhat You BringBasic Requirements:Must have 4 years of directly related experience in an engineering fieldMust have applicable experience with networking (LAN/WAN), TCP/IP, Multicast, OSPF, BGP routing protocols, and various WAN network mediumsMust be familiar with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Micro Focus ITOM, NetScout, networking (LAN/WAN) and basic troubleshooting network anomalies (command line access to network devices such as Cisco routers/switches)Must be familiar with Remedy Action Request SystemMust have an understanding of COMSEC, Circuit Actions and DISA Tech Control proceduresMust have a current DoD 8570 Level II Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE or higherMust have an active DoD Secret Security ClearanceDesired Requirements:Have a Cisco CCNA CertificationHave experience with Cisco routers/switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, McAfee, Wildfire, and FireEye IPS/IDS, Citrix NetScaler, Blue Coat Proxy and SSL DecryptorsHave experience with IT Services Configuration Management processesHave experience with Remedy and SNMP monitoring tools (e.g., Micro focus/HPOV/SolarWinds)Have experience with ITIL framework and ITIL-based processes, to include continual service improvement, change management, and problem investigationAdditional Qualities for Success:Excellent customer service skills and willingness to learn new technologiesProficiency in developing comprehensive and detailed network diagramsAbility to follow documented processes and provide feedback for improvementStrong teamwork and interpersonal skillsAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a positive, can-do attitudeQuick learner with strong communication skillsWhy LaunchTech?At LaunchTech, we don’t just fill seats, we bring in people who want to make an impact.
