Technical Solution Manager

Technical Solution Manager - $50,000 - $60,000k + commissions | Benefits including: medical, dental, vision, Company pension (5% company contribution), Company Sick Pay, Critical Illness cover and Life Assurance The Technical Solution Manager will work closely with the Sales and Operations teams and is responsible for the sourcing and pricing of customer enquiries to maximize our conversion to order rates. They will manage and control the enquiry to supply process to match customer requirements.Key tasks for this varied role include assessing, confirming, and costing customer enquiries ensuring effective flow of information across the supply chain. Customer experience and communication are key to success in this role as individuals will be regularly speaking to and negotiating with a range of external individuals.Key Responsibilities Work closely with sales colleagues to ensure customer requirements are understood and actioned in agreed time frames. Ensure customer enquiries are actioned in a timely manner. Liaise directly with customers to fully understand requirements, as needed, in order to develop effective supply solution. Maximize the conversion rate from enquiry, to quote, to order. Develop supply chain to allow for the quickest solution allowing for cost and quality. Understand the capability of our suppliers; build and maintain good relationships, driving improvements in time to quote. Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and supply chain to validate assumptions and ensure pricing accuracy. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve pricing and estimating catalogue, including standard materials, processes, and historical pricing data. Analyze historical quotes and job performance to refine pricing models and improve margin consistency. Develop and communicate price working directly with the customer or in conjunction with account management. Expedite RFQ's to ensure that customer expectations are met. Keep abreast of market trends for materials. Benchmark existing suppliers in a bid to maximize our purchasing potential. Ensure specifications are in accordance with customer requirement and maintained accurately in relevant business systems. Key Requirements Degree level, or equivalent experience, in a chemistry or materials discipline. A technical knowledge gained from similar engineering / chemical / material supply business is an advantage. High levels of commercial awareness, the ability to persuade and negotiate coupled with a passion for providing service excellence and drive to achieve results. Recent experience of presenting to and interacting regularly with customers. Comfortable making decisions on price, quality and lead time to maximize conversion rates whilst achieving revenue and margin goals. Accuracy and high attention to detail coupled with analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills — regularly speaking to and negotiating with both customers and suppliers. Flexibility and a positive attitude towards opportunity. A mindset that puts the customer at the center of everything we do. Responsibility Knowledge of managing the commercial impact of a team. Ability to meet both personal and departmental KPIs. One Team Regularly communicate the progress of the department/teams' efforts based against the operational plan and business objectives.
