Join us in our mission to create a stronger, more supportive community.OverviewThe Community Chest is looking for a creative UNPAID Social Media Intern to help us tell our story. We provide vital funding to non-profits throughout Bergen County, and we need your help to showcase that impact. This role is primarily virtual, offering significant flexibility for students or individuals looking to gain experience in the non-profit sector.Job Description: Social Media Intern Remote/ Possibly hybrid 1x to start. Compensation: Unpaid Organization: The Community Chest of Eastern Bergen CountyLocation: Remote (Occasional in-person meeting in Englewood, NJ, may be requested)Commitment: 2–5 hours per weekKey ResponsibilitiesContent Strategy: Draft and schedule engaging posts for Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook that highlight our community impact.Grantee Spotlight: Work with our grant recipients to ensure they are tagging us properly and help "re-share" their success stories to our audience.Digital Growth: Help increase our visibility by engaging with local Bergen County partners and supporters online.Brand Awareness: Assist in ensuring our mission that funds go directly back into the community is clearly communicated to donors.Role LogisticsRemote Work: 95% of this role is completed virtually on your own schedule.In-Person Touchpoint: We may request a one-time in-office visit (Englewood, NJ) for orientation or to meet the team, but we are happy to discuss and accommodate your schedule.Time Commitment: A light but consistent 2–5 hours per week.QualificationsActive user of Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.Strong writing skills with a professional yet community-focused tone.Self-starter who can manage 2–5 hours of work independently each week.A resident of or interest in Bergen County is a major plus.Experience with Canva or basic photo editing is a bonus.
