The Solution Architect I plays akey role in shaping Ross's technology landscape. This position is responsible for driving the ITstrategy and roadmap, including the evaluation, selection, and design of technology solutions tomeet the needs of both IT and key business portfolios such as Supply Chain and Stores.This is a highly visible role with broad engagement across Ross IT, business partners, andexternal technology providers. The ideal candidate will bring strong architectural expertise andthe ability to develop solutions that align with our business goals.The base salary range for this role is $114,300 - $195,000. The base salary range isdependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevanteducation, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component ofthe total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position andlocation.Essential Functions Provides enterprise level architecture consultancy including thought leadership andtechnical guidance for strategic projects across programs and business portfolios. Addresses key enterprise technology architecture aspects, including technologysolutions and strategies, feasibility insights, and how supporting technologies fittogether and evolve over time. Conducts TCO and ROI analysis to help understand and convey the financial impact ofarchitecture solutions and strategies. Prepares and conducts presentations of architecture solutions and strategic proposals to awide audience including executives. Participates in the 5-year planning and annual budgeting process. Provides actionablerecommendations on initiatives to drive targeted business outcomes. Tracks technologylifecycle and influences 5-year plan to account for technology obsolescence and risk. Collaborates with IT and Business Partners to define enablers in the roadmap plan thatexplore technical options and build the architecture runway and provide early feedbackto meet roadmap milestones. Works with peer architects (enterprise, domain, and security) to analyze businesscontext (business strategy and trends), as well as other architecture viewpoints (such asinformation and solution) to develop the future state technology architecture. Thisincludes defining the requirements, principles and models that guide technologydecisions for the enterprise. Facilitates the research, evaluation, and selection of hardware and software technologyand product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations. Develops, documents, and maintains technology architecture standards and patterns. Ensures work produced is aligned with other Enterprise, Application and Portfolioarchitects, providing holistic enterprise solutions. Ensures completion of Architectural and project deliverables on time and under budgetand that anticipated business outcomes are achieved. Creates solution designs that leverage Ross architecture standards and services that canmeet key project design criteria (Availability, Recoverability, Scalability, Performancecharacteristics) and can be properly supported by the IT engineering, support andoperations teams throughout the project's lifecycle. Provides architectural and technical input for definition, estimation and delivery ofprojects.
