Pharmacist in Charge - Peoria, ILCompensation: $145,000 To $156,000 Annually** Overview: Nexus HR is seeking an experienced, licensed Pharmacist in Charge to lead daily operations at our retail pharmacy in Peoria, IL.**About the JobAs a pharmacist, you will be responsible for preparing and administering appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients. You will achieve this either by executing a physician's order or by addressing the patient's problems and needs.The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge. A pharmacist does not merely hand out prescribed medicine; he/she has the expertise and willingness to assist people and provide them with information and solutions.The pharmacist must be fully qualified to interpret symptoms so that the patient can either be given immediate treatment for a trifling condition or to be referred to a suitable doctor. Pharmacists must also be able to provide professional advice on cosmetics or parapharmaceuticals.The goal is to ensure effective medication use and become the people's trusted ally against health issues. That way, you can deliver maximum value to both the pharmacy and society.About the PharmacyThe pharmacy is a comprehensive primary care provider based in Illinois, with two locations in Peoria and Galesburg. Our pharmacy team includes a registered pharmacist and full-service pharmacy services at our Peoria location, while our Galesburg site operates as a telepharmacy to ensure seamless access for patients in that region.Our pharmacy staff work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment where communication, flexibility, and mutual support are valued. The overall work environment is described as warm and family-like, where personal relationships and trust are part of the everyday culture.Duties and Responsibilities:Review and execute physician's prescriptions, checking their appropriateness and legalityOrganize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and fasterMaintain full control over delivering, stocking, and labeling medicine and other products, and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deteriorationListen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues, and offer information and adviceProvide assistance other medical services such as injections, blood pressure/ temperature measurements etc.Prepare medicine when appropriate, using the correct dosages and materials for each individual patientKeep records of patient history and of all activities regarding heavy medicationKeep abreast of advancements in medicine by attending conferences and seminars and collaborating with other healthcare professionalsComply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and proceduresQualifications :Proven experience as a pharmacist; prior management experience preferredDoctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institutionActive and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the State of IllinoisStrong knowledge of Illinois pharmacy laws and regulatory standardsThorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands, etc.Outstanding knowledge of MS Office and Pharmacy information systemsGood organizing skillsExcellent communication skills with a customer-oriented approachIntegrity and compassionBenefits:Dental InsuranceHealth InsuranceVision InsurancePaid Time Off401(k)Structured SchedulesContinuous Professional Development
