As an CMT Technician, you will be assigned to one or more active construction sites and be responsible for sampling and testing construction materials including, concrete, soils, asphalt, and other relevant materials. You will have the opportunity to advance your skillset through on-the-job training as well as attendance at certification classes.Key Responsibilities Duties will include but may not be limited to:Conduct field testing of concrete, soils, asphalt, aggregate, and other relevant construction materials for compliance with project specifications. ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I certification is requiredDocumentation and Reporting: Utilizing a company-provided iPad, maintain detailed daily records of construction activities and materials sampled/testedGenerate clear and concise inspection reports and other pertinent documentation, including test reports and observationsMaintain detailed records of onsite activities to aid in the development of as-built plans.Safety Compliance: Monitor and enforce safety protocols and best practices on construction sites.Report safety hazards and assist in the resolution of safety concerns.Communication: Communicate clearly and effectively with project stakeholders, including engineering personnel, contractors, and project team members.Provide regular updates on project progress and address any concerns promptly.Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent AND four (4) years of construction-related experiencePrior CMT or Construction Inspection Experience with active materials testing certificationACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I certification is requiredA strong sense of responsibility, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well independently and as part of a teamAbility to perform field measurements and complete mathematical calculations to determine areas and volumes, and convert between unitsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsWillingness to work both indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditionsWillingness to work weekends and nights if requiredValid driver's license and favorable driving recordAbility to lift up to 50 poundsPreferred Qualifications Associate Degree in Engineering or a related fieldPrevious experience working on or with NCDOT projectsFamiliarity with Plans/Blueprints, Standards, and SpecificationsThe following certifications: American Concrete Institute (ACI) Certifications in Strength Testing, Laboratory Technician, Aggregate Testing, etc.ICC Certifications in Soils, Reinforced Concrete, etc.NCDOT Certifications in Concrete, Soils (Conventional Density), and Asphalt (QMS Roadway)OSHA 10-Hour ConstructionBenefits Competitive salary based on experienceHealth, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance plansRetirement savings plan with company contributionsPersonal time off and paid holidaysCompany vehicle for work purposes, depending upon assignmentOpportunities for professional development and trainingCollaborative and inclusive work environmentThe opportunity to contribute to critical transportation projects that enhance North Carolina's infrastructureGoins Sweitzer Engineers and Consultants is an equal opportunity employer, committed to promoting diversity and fostering an inclusive workplace.Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
