Full Stack Engineer - Web + Java

We are looking for strong Full Stack Engineers to work on large-scale systems. Serving millions of users across web, mobile and connected-TV devices.The role will be part of the Subscriptions and Payments engineering team and will contribute to building Fire TV In-App Purchase (IAP) capabilities, subscription journeys, entitlement workflows and platform integrations.You will work on highly scalable consumer-facing systems where performance, reliability, low latency and seamless user experience are critical, particularly during high-traffic events such as live sports and major content releases.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and maintain scalable full-stack applications using Java and modern web technologiesBuild frontend and backend capabilities supporting subscriptions, payments and entitlement managementDevelop responsive, performant user experiences using JavaScript/TypeScript and React or similar frameworksBuild and integrate REST APIs and microservices for subscription and payment workflowsWork on Fire TV IAP integration, including purchases, renewals, cancellations and entitlement synchronizationIntegrate with external payment providers, app stores and platform APIsBuild resilient systems capable of handling large traffic spikes and high concurrent usageImprove application performance, availability, monitoring and reliabilityHandle failure scenarios, retries, reconciliation and user-state consistency across distributed systemsCollaborate with backend, frontend, product and platform teams to deliver features end-to-endWrite high-quality, maintainable and well-tested production codeParticipate in design reviews, code reviews and architecture discussionsRequirementsStrong experience with Java, Spring Boot and RESTful servicesStrong frontend experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSSExperience with React, Next.js or similar modern frontend frameworksStrong understanding of microservices and distributed systemsExperience building high-scale consumer-facing applicationsExperience with SQL/NoSQL databasesExposure to caching systems such as RedisExperience with messaging/event-streaming technologies such as Kafka is preferredExperience with cloud platforms such as AWSFamiliarity with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CDGood understanding of observability, monitoring and production debuggingExperience4-7 years of software engineering experienceStrong hands-on frontend and backend development experienceAbility to independently own and deliver production featuresExperience working on scalable distributed applicationsNote: This is a 6-month contractual role.BenefitsBest-in-class salary: We hire strong talent and compensate accordinglyProximity Talks: Meet and learn from designers, engineers, product leaders, and AI practitionersContinuous learning: Work with a world-class team and stay close to the latest in AI, engineering, and product developmentHigh-impact work: Build AI-first systems and products used at scale by global clientsAbout UsProximity is the trusted technology, design, and consulting partner for some of the biggest Sports, Media, and Entertainment companies in the world.
