Maintenance Worker- Carpenter

ResponsibilitiesInstalls and replaces ceiling tile, floor tile, etc.Assists in building, repairing, and installing counters, cabinets, shelves, tables, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework, trims, and minor roof repair.Assists in building office furniture such as desks, bookcases, and computer areas.Installs and repairs glass in windows, doors, and partitions.Removes interior and exterior walls, doors, and windows.Measures and cuts material for carpentry projects.Sands, cleans, glues, and fastens materials using nails, screws, and staples.Knowledge of carpentry terminology and materials used in the trade.Knowledge of basic mathematics.Skill in using carpentry tools and equipment.Ability to learn to use the more complex tools of the trade.Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position.Ability to climb ladders and perform related tasks associated with this job.Ability to perform all the physical, intellectual, and analytical requirements of the position including decision making.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and the general public.
