Quality Engineer Manager
Akkodis is seeking a Quality Engineer Manager for a Direct Hire position located in Ogden UT. This role requires a recent Senior Quality Manager with strong leadership experience in manufacturing (preferably automotive). and a strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.The salary range is $150,000-$170,000 per year.Job SummaryThe Quality Manager is responsible for setting and leading the quality culture and strategy for the facility. This role oversees all quality-related functions, including Manufacturing Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Material Inspection, Test Laboratory, Metrology, and Customer Relations. The Quality Manager plays a critical leadership role in driving systemic problem solving, continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with quality standards while partnering closely with production, technical support, and design teams.Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish and lead the facility’s quality culture, vision, and strategy.Oversee Manufacturing Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Material Inspection, Test Lab, Metrology, and Customer Relations functions.Lead and actively participate in problem-solving efforts, focusing on root cause analysis and systemic solutions.Ensure appropriate application of judgmental, informational, and source inspection methods.Define and execute strategies for process improvement and quality support systems.Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to supervisors and experienced salaried employees.Interpret and implement company policies and procedures impacting the organization.Act as a trusted advisor to the organization on quality-related tasks, projects, and operations.Actively engage in daily operations to meet production schedules and resolve complex quality challenges.Ensure all work and projects are completed on time and within budget.Approve expenditures in accordance with budget guidelines and company policies.Remove barriers and provide resources needed for teams to succeed.Collaborate closely with production, technical support, and design teams to ensure product and process quality.Functional CompetenciesStrong leadership and decision-making capabilities.Advanced problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.Excellent communication skills (speaking, listening, and writing).Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives and build credibility across teams.Strong planning, organizational, and resource management skills.Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.Maintains a professional presence and leadership mindset appropriate for a senior management role.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (required).Minimum of 10 years of experience in a managerial role (required).Experience in Automotive Manufacturing (preferred); Aerospace or Metal Mechanics industries also acceptable.Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent quality expertise.Quality standards certifications strongly preferred.Technical SkillsLean Six SigmaLean ManufacturingQuality Management SystemsRoot Cause Analysis and Corrective ActionContinuous Improvement MethodologiesPersonal CharacteristicsStrong, effective leaderResults-driven and accountableAutomotive/manufacturing mindsetProactive and hands-on when requiredCollaborative and relationship-focusedIf you are interested in this Senior Quality Manager job in Ogden UT, then please click APPLY NOW.
