QC Technician

Job Description We are currently looking for a QC for a manufacturing company located in the City of Industry.Shift 5am to 1:30pm Monday to Friday with Opportunity of OVERTIMEThe Metal Fabricator / QC Technician is responsible for manufacturing metal components and ensuring they meet quality standards through inspection and measurement. This role requires strong knowledge of fabrication processes and the ability to interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), to verify product compliance.Key Responsibilities:Fabrication Duties:Operate fabrication equipment such as press brakes, shears, saws, grinders, and welding toolsCut, shape, and assemble metal components according to blueprints and specificationsPerform MIG/TIG welding and basic fitting as requiredMaintain proper material handling and ensure safe work practicesInspect parts during fabrication to ensure accuracy and consistencyQuality Control Duties:Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbolsPerform first article, in-process, and final inspectionsUse precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM if applicable)Verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes per specificationsDocument inspection results and maintain quality recordsIdentify non-conforming parts and initiate corrective actionsGD&T Responsibilities:Interpret GD&T callouts including position, flatness, concentricity, and profileEnsure parts meet geometric tolerances and functional requirementsCollaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve tolerance issuesAssist in developing inspection methods based on GD&T requirementsQualifications:2+ years of experience in metal fabrication and/or quality inspectionStrong understanding of GD&T principlesAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and schematicsProficiency with inspection tools and measurement techniquesBasic computer skills for documentation and reportingFamiliarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality systemsWelding certification (AWS or equivalent)Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma knowledge
