Senior UX Motion Designer (Consumer Products)San Francisco, CA6-Month ContractAbout the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior UX Motion Designer to support a large-scale consumer product organization during a period of increased business demand through the end of the year. This role will work across multiple product initiatives, contributing to both strategic motion design projects and smaller implementation-focused updates.The ideal candidate is a motion design specialist with deep expertise in product-focused animation, strong systems thinking, and the ability to collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure high-quality implementation across platforms.This is not a marketing or video-editing role — it is a product-centered UX motion design position focused on scalable, production-ready motion experiences for consumer applications.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and deliver high-quality motion experiences across consumer-facing mobile and web productsLead motion execution for large-scale strategic initiatives while supporting smaller ad-hoc motion requestsCreate polished 2D motion assets, transitions, micro-interactions, onboarding animations, loading states, and interaction feedbackOptimize and export animation assets from After Effects into implementation-ready formatsCollaborate closely with engineers to ensure accurate and performant implementationDefine animation specifications, reusable motion behaviors, and scalable motion patternsBalance creative storytelling with technical feasibility and platform constraintsWork cross-functionally with UX Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders across multiple workstreamsRequired Qualifications6+ years of professional motion design experience within product or UX environmentsExpert-level proficiency in Adobe After EffectsStrong experience with Lottie workflows and JSON-based animation handoffFamiliarity with Skottie or similar implementation technologiesAdvanced proficiency in FigmaStrong understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and motion systemsExperience shipping motion experiences within live consumer productsAbility to communicate technical motion requirements effectively with engineering teamsExperience creating highly optimized animation exports for production environmentsStrong portfolio demonstrating motion work for large-scale consumer applicationsPreferred QualificationsExperience working on mobile-first consumer applications and large-scale digital ecosystemsBackground in big tech, design-forward product organizations, or specialized motion/interactions studiosExposure to both 2D and some 3D motion workflowsExperience designing for products with millions of usersFamiliarity with motion accessibility standards and scalable design systemsComfortable operating independently with a high degree of ownership and autonomyWhat We’re Looking ForMotion design specialist with strong visual polish and systems thinkingExcellent communicator who can partner effectively with engineering teamsStrategic mindset with strong execution capabilitiesDetail-oriented and highly collaborativeComfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced product environmentWork EnvironmentPreference for candidates working within or overlapping significantly with Pacific Time Zone hoursFully remote flexibility available for the right candidateHighly cross-functional and collaborative environment with close interaction between design and engineering teamsInterview ProcessThe interview process will evaluate both creative and technical motion expertise and may include:Portfolio and motion systems discussionTechnical implementation and workflow conversationCross-functional collaboration and communication assessmentPeer discussions with design and engineering stakeholdersThanks,Nandit
