Patient Care Coordinator

Description We are looking for a dedicated Patient Care Coordinator to join our team in San Luis Obispo, California. This long-term contract position is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about healthcare and patient advocacy. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring patients receive accurate and efficient registration services while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.Responsibilities:- Accurately identify patients and collect comprehensive demographic information to ensure proper records.- Verify insurance details, including eligibility and benefits, to confirm coverage for services rendered.- Assess and collect financial liabilities from patients while explaining payment policies and options.- Provide information on hospital policies and patient rights to families in a clear and supportive manner.- Refer patients to the Patient Registration Specialist for financial counseling or clearance as needed.- Maintain compliance with healthcare policies and procedures to ensure accurate reimbursements.- Collaborate with team members to support a seamless registration process and address patient concerns.- Utilize healthcare systems to document and update patient information effectively.- Monitor and address any discrepancies in patient registration data to ensure accuracy.- Assist in ad hoc financial tasks related to patient billing and insurance claims. Requirements - Proven experience in patient registration or a related healthcare role.- Strong knowledge of insurance verification processes and benefit functions.- Familiarity with patient financial counseling and liability assessments.- Excellent communication skills to explain policies and patient rights effectively.- Proficiency in handling sensitive patient information with confidentiality.- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage patient data accurately.- Business casual attire required for the role.
