Our team of technicians service; including repair, install and maintain a variety of pieces of heavy equipment including hydrovacs, vac trucks, street sweeper, refuse and recycling equipment.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Inspect and troubleshoot equipment failures and perform hydraulic, electrical and mechanical repairs on various types of equipmentPerform diagnostics to determine repairs requiredConduct routine preventative maintenanceCommunicate effectively with the Parts & Service teams on job progress and status changesUpdate work order systemMaintain organized and safe work area, shop tools and service vansABOUT YOU:Strong mechanical aptitudeDemonstrated ability to work in a safe mannerCollaborative team player and willing to assist others when requiredAttention to detail and commitment to customer satisfactionIndependent problem solver and decision makerAbility to plan and execute aspects of work independentlyPOSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:Education from an accredited technical school in diesel engine/hydraulics/heavy equipment repair preferred but not requiredValid CDL driver's license (or ability to obtain a CDL) and a clean driver's abstractMust be able to pass a pre-employment background check3+ years' experience working in a mechanic / technician roleExperienced with hydraulic and/or electrical workSAFETY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESEmployees must:Work in compliance with the appropriate safety legislation/regulations/safety policiesReport any known workplace hazard or safety violationsCooperate with their workplace's Safety Committee or health and safety representativeUse any safety equipment, protective devices or clothing requiredNot remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the Company or by the regulations.OTHER DETAILSWork Environment:Shop, Warehouse, Yard environmentFrequent exposure to noise, dust and dirtPhysical Demand:Frequently required to lift and move moderately heavy objects (50lbs)Frequently standing and walkingWHO WE ARE:As the leading distributor of public works equipment, Joe Johnson Equipment (JJE) provides mobile infrastructure-maintenance equipment to municipalities and contractors across Canada and the US.
