Join a team that is dedicated to excellence and upholding the highest standards in the industry.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Payroll and Financial Accountant based in Waupun, WI. The primary focus of this position will be to manage and process payroll operations. Payroll operations include having knowledge in payroll processing and payroll tax compliance. This role oversees end-to-end payroll operating of a workforce of 160-180 employees across multiple states, primarily in the Midwest. The ideal candidate brings knowledge of payroll regulations, payroll tax compliance and understanding, ERP/Payroll Software functionality, while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance. Secondary this position would assist with interviewing and onboarding new staff as well as reviewing company benefits and keeping policies up-to-date.Key Payroll ResponsibilitiesOversee and process bi-weekly payroll for multi-state employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax and regulations.Manage end-to-end payroll operations which include employee record maintenance, and the processing and review of time entry, tax withholdings, benefit deductions, per-diem and travel incentive calculations, job costing/department allocations, and various other reimbursements/deductions that may arise. Ensure compliance with payroll filings, payroll tax, internal controls, company policies, and benefit policies. Understand and stay current on federal and multi-state payroll tax legislation, reciprocal agreements, nexus rules, regulatory requirements; implement updates as needed. Coordinate quarterly and year-end payroll processes with third-party payroll providers, including W2 preparation, tax reconciliations, and filings. Prepare, review, and analyze payroll reports for management/accounting, identifying trends, and potential compliance risks. Develop and produce payroll related reports and data for workers’ compensation and general liability insurance audits, state reporting, 401K audit, and other compliance requirements. Utilize Microsoft Excel and payroll software to ensure accurate data calculation and integration.Maintain employee mater files and respond to employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits (tax forms, health insurance, 401K enrollment and changes, etc.)Partner with HR, Finance/Accounting, Operational Leadership to ensure accurate job costing by department, employee profile setup, and configuration, along with insight to improve process.Collaborate and communicate weekly with Project Supervisors to align payroll with field staff allocation and job site locations. Research and resolve complex payroll and payroll tax issues. Conduct audit of payroll calculations to ensure accurate compensation and reporting. Maintain strict confidentiality and data integrity in all payroll activities. Secondary Human Resources TasksOnboarding of new staff (assist employees with state and federal paperwork)Manage employee ads, review inquiries/applications, schedule interviewsHost interviews for entry level positionsSit in on interviews for middle and upper management positionsSchedule drug testing and background checksManage company benefitsAdminister and manage company policies and procedures to keep up to dateEducation or prior experience in safety management/policies would be a plusPay: $85,000 - $115,000Benefits:401(k) and 401(k) matchingPaid Time OffHealth Insurance (Medical, Dental, and Vision)Short term disabilityVoluntary life insuranceProfit Sharing
