SPED FACILITATORCALLOWAY COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATIONPOSITION: SPECIAL EDUCATION FACILITATORCLASSIFICATION: CERTIFIEDMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:1. Kentucky Special Education Teaching Certificate or School Counselor Certificate2. Applicants with five or more years of special education or school counselor experience preferred.3. Applicants with five or more years of ARC Chairperson experience preferred.REPORTS TO: Director of Special EducationJOB GOAL: Coordinate and assist in the implementation of the CCSD Board Policies and Procedures as they relate to special education. Assist school administrators in meeting responsibilities of District Representative for Admission and Release Committee (ARC) meetings.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Assist the Director of Special Education in the development and implementation of CCSD Board Policies and Procedures as related to special education.2. Schedule middle and high school ARC's according to Policy and Procedures within timelines.3. Chair all ARC's at the middle and high school level as the district representative.4. Co-chair ARC's as designated by the building principals.5. Assist staff, parents, etc. in referral procedures including chairing a committee designated to assist staff in interventions and strategies prior to a referral to special education, collecting required information prior to ARC to discuss referral (up-dated screenings, documentation of interventions, etc.)6. Collect data at the school level consisting of number of referrals, effectiveness of special education programs, etc.7. Input data at the school level into the district tracking system.8. Assist school and district personnel in adherence to timelines.9. Assist in documenting adherence to compliance indicators using the Kentucky Compliance Record Review document.10. Assist with scheduling of special education students.11. Complete due process forms correctly and accurately.12. Complete written documentation in a timely manner.13. Attend trainings and meetings as directed by the Director of Special Education.14. Shall present a positive image of the school to parents and convey to them the school's genuine concern with the education, growth and development of each student.15. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:1. Salary (Exempt) - Based on Certified Salary Schedule2. 185 Days3.
