Job OverviewDrafter / CNC Programmer (2+ Years Experience)Position SummaryTE Connectivity – Marine, Oil & Gas (MOG) Business Unit is seeking a Drafter with hands-on CNC programming exposure to support machining-focused product development and production.This role bridges engineering design and manufacturing execution. The position is responsible for creating high-quality 3D models and manufacturing drawings while supporting CNC programming activities in Mastercam or Esprit to ensure efficient, producible designs.Please note: This position may involve working with technical data, technology, software/source code, hardware, or other items (collectively “items) subject to U.S. and non-U.S. export control laws and regulations. Under these regulations, it may be necessary for TE to verify a candidate’s national origin and/or citizenship status to determine whether a U.S. or other government export license is required prior to releasing its technologies to the candidate. If TE determines that TE will require a license or will be prohibited by applicable laws from providing the candidate with items necessary for the performance of this position, then TE expressly reserves the right to either a) make an offer of employment contingent upon TE receiving required export licenses from the appropriate government agency, b) consider the candidate for a different position that is not subject to such restrictions, on whatever terms and conditions TE shall establish in its sole discretion, or c) decline to move forward with the candidate’s application.Job RequirementsDrafting & Design SupportCreate and revise 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorksApply GD&T per ASME Y14.5Develop machining-ready drawings (tight tolerances, surface finishes, thread callouts)Maintain revision control and documentation in PLM/ERP systemsSupport engineering change implementation (ECOs)CNC Programming SupportCreate and modify CNC programs using Esprit and/or Mastercam.Generate toolpaths for milled and turned componentsAssist with fixture modeling and setup validationCollaborate with machinists to optimize cycle time and manufacturabilitySupport prove-outs and first article buildsTroubleshoot machining issues related to design or toolpathManufacturing CollaborationWork closely with Manufacturing Engineering on DFM improvementsReview prints for machinability and tolerance stack-up risksSupport cost-reduction initiatives through design simplificationAssist with tooling documentation and process sheetsWhat Your Background Should Look LikeAssociate’s degree or Technical Certification in Drafting, Manufacturing Technology, or related fieldMinimum 2 years drafting experience in a manufacturing environmentProficiency in SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, drawings)Working knowledge of Mastercam and/or Esprit (toolpath generation, post processing)Understanding of:CNC milling and turningTooling selection fundamentalsGD&T (ASME Y14.5)Machining tolerances and surface finish standardsAbility to read and interpret complex technical drawingsCompetenciesStrong attention to detailManufacturing-first mindsetStructured problem-solving capabilityAbility to work cross-functionally with engineering and shop floor teamsClear technical communicationScope & Growth OpportunityThis Role ProvidesDirect exposure to precision machining of subsea connector componentsOpportunity to expand into full CNC programming responsibilityPathway toward Manufacturing Engineering or Advanced Programming rolesPreferred QualificiationsExperience in aerospace, defense, marine, oil & gas, or precision machining environmentsExposure to 4-axis / 5-axis machiningExperience supporting prototype-to-production transitionsFamiliarity with ITAR-controlled productsBasic knowledge of:Cutting parameters (feeds/speeds)Fixture designCAM simulation validationCompetenciesAbout Te ConnectivityTE Connectivity plc (NYSE: TEL) is a global industrial technology leader creating a safer, sustainable, productive, and connected future.
