The Medical Assistant II role includes many independent clinical duties, broad EMR documentation responsibilities, and the ability to support complex workflows while ensuring an excellent patient experience. Join us and be part of a rapidly growing team that's truly making a difference!Role And ResponsibilitiesRooming patients, adhere to rooming guidelines, vitals, accurately documents in the EMR, basic tests/procedures, medications and vaccinesUtilizes all standard and specialized equipment such as spirometry, nebulizers and audiometryHas pediatric vaccine knowledge and administers pediatric vaccinesDocument patient information in the EMR accuratelyAdheres to and teaches established policies and procedures including but not limited to infection control, HIPPA, and safety protocolsDemonstrates the knowledge and flexibility to support other providers, departments and mentors staffReviews patients schedules, performs encounter preparation, and escalates appropriately within scopeSupports providers in Value Based Care initiativesClinical inbox management for self and for providerCross trained to work in other departments, roles and locationsCovers Nurse/MA Visits Schedule and performs ancillary proceduresPOD/Station lead for compliance/inventoryParticipates in assigned clinical related projectsProficiency in prescription refills per protocol and patient instructionsAdvanced knowledge of OSHA safety regulationsServe as a preceptor for onboarding and training of new MAsSupport care coordination efforts including referrals and prior authorizationsIdentify clinical workflow improvements and share recommendations with leadershipSupport EMR documentation, including chart preparation and accurate note entryRelay provider instructions to patients and follow up as directedCommunicate with Care Team to maintain efficient clinic flow across all functionsMinimum Qualifications And RequirementsCompletion of accredited medical Assistant programActive Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent)Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS certification for healthcare providers with hands on component preferred or within 60 days of hireMinimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare setting is requiredDocumented proficiency in additional skills i.e. Phlebotomy, Quality Metrics/VBC, and/or PreceptingPreferred ExperienceAthena EMR experienceCompetitive Benefit PackageCompensation commensurate with experienceMedical, Dental, Vision InsuranceShort/Long term disability Insurance401K with employer matchHealth Savings Account optionsPaid Holidays and PTOReferral ProgramsAt Catalyst, we believe in the power of relationships.
