Quality Control Inspector

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our precision machining team. In this critical role, you will ensure that our machined parts consistently meet customer quality standards, specifications, and efficiency requirements. You will use a range of precision measurement tools and equipment, maintain accurate documentation, and collaborate closely with production operators and management to uphold the highest levels of quality.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections of machined components to verify dimensional conformance, using hand tools, gauges, and advanced inspection equipment.
* Accurately document all quality assurance activities and inspection results.
* Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation packages for customers.
* Communicate effectively with machine operators to address and resolve any identified quality concerns.
* Report significant quality issues to management that may require part rework, scrap, or production adjustments.
* Maintain and update calibration records for company inspection equipment and tools used by machine operators.
* Assemble and prepare gage kits for production team use.
* Enter new job information into the quality assurance database/system.
*Qualifications & Requirements:*
* Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with strong attention to detail.
* Proven experience in precision machined part manufacturing quality control
* Excellent verbal communication skills and a collaborative team mindset.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
* Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
* Strong mathematical skills relevant to precision measurement and inspection.
* Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data accurately and identify root causes of quality issues.
* Hands-on experience using a variety of precision inspection tools, including: Calipers, Micrometers, Height gauges, Optical comparators, Profilometers and other standard metrology equipment
* Keen visual inspection abilities to identify workmanship defects such as burrs, dents/dings, scratches, poor surface finishes, and other rejectable conditions.
* Familiarity with quality standards including ISO 9001
* Proven CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) experience is required.
