The firm partners with organizations across industries to stand up and mature data quality programs — work that has become increasingly critical as AI and analytics initiatives raise the bar for data that is clean, complete, and explainable. The Data Quality Analyst will operate as a hands-on member of client engagement teams, delivering to the firm's established project methodology and deliverable standards.ABOUT THE ROLEAI and analytics workflows are only as trustworthy as the data underneath them, and that trust is built one profiled column, one resolved issue, and one documented rule at a time. That is the work the Data Quality Analyst owns. You will profile source data, define and apply data quality rules, monitor results, manage issues toward root cause, and document the patterns so the program keeps improving after you hand it off.As AI/ML use cases raise the bar for data quality, the analyst role becomes the day-to-day engine that holds that bar in place. This work is tool-agnostic by design: you will profile and measure against whichever data quality platform the client has adopted. The position is fully remote and available as a contract or contract-to-hire engagement.WHAT YOU'LL DOParticipate in and document meetings, workshops, and interviews with business and IT stakeholders; capture decisions, action items, and requirements.Collect and analyze data governance, data quality, and audit requirements; translate them into structured documentation.Profile source data across systems to establish a clear picture of structure, completeness, validity, and conformance; translate findings into plain-language implications for business users.Define, document, and apply data quality rules and validation checks; set quality thresholds and scoring aligned to how the data will be consumed, including AI/ML use cases.Operate data quality monitoring, track results against defined metrics and SLAs, and surface trends and breaks to stakeholders before they reach downstream consumers.Investigate detected data quality exceptions, drive toward root cause, and partner with business and IT owners to manage issues through to resolution; document resolution patterns for reuse.Capture metrics on the data environment — such as the frequency and type of quality issues — and report them clearly to business and IT stakeholders and engagement leadership.Produce and maintain source-to-target mappings and contribute to data quality requirements for data integration and change data capture work.Read, interpret, and contribute to conceptual, logical, and physical data models well enough to reason about where quality issues originate.Support the Metadata Governance Lead and Master Data and Reference Data Specialists by feeding profiling results and quality findings into glossary, lineage, and master/reference data work.Prepare presentations, reports, runbooks, training materials, and other deliverables to the firm's standards.Work within the client's data quality platform (tool-agnostic — Informatica Data Quality, Collibra Data Quality, Great Expectations, Soda, Monte Carlo, Bigeye, dbt tests, or other) for day-to-day profiling, rule execution, and monitoring.WHAT YOU'LL NEEDRequired3+ years in a data analyst, data quality analyst, or closely related data-centric role.Strong SQL proficiency across one or more platforms, with a working understanding of relational database concepts such as referential integrity.Hands-on experience with data profiling and the common categories of data quality issues, along with practical approaches to resolving them.Experience performing root cause analysis on data quality problems and working with business users to drive remediation.Ability to read and contribute to data models and to produce source-to-target mappings.Familiarity with adjacent data management concepts: data governance, metadata management, and master data management.Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present complex data findings simply for both business and technical audiences.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task across workstreams and shifting deadlines.Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field, or equivalent experience.PreferredHands-on experience with one or more data quality or observability platforms (tool-agnostic — transferable skills valued over single-platform depth).Exposure to data quality as code (dbt tests, Spark-based checks) and to embedding quality into data pipelines rather than treating it as a separate step.Familiarity with how AI/ML workflows consume data and the quality controls that make that data trustworthy (completeness, lineage, drift, and evaluation-data quality).Familiarity with frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK or the DCAM/CDMC data quality dimensions.Industry experience in life sciences, financial services, healthcare, or other regulated environments.OtherFully remote engagement.Available as a contract (1099 / Corp-to-Corp) or contract-to-hire arrangement.WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKEBy the end of a successful engagement, the Data Quality Analyst's work may include:Delivering profiling coverage and documented data quality rules across the priority data in scope.Standing up monitoring and reporting that gives the program a reliable, current read on data quality against defined metrics.Working a meaningful body of data quality issues through to root cause and resolution, with patterns documented for reuse.Feeding quality findings into the broader governance, metadata, and master/reference data workstreams so the work compounds rather than duplicates.Building measurable client capability so analyst-level data quality operations continue after the engagement.ABOUT USBrooksource is an IT and engineering professional services firm and part of Eight Eleven Group.
