About the unitMed Surg is our 44 bed unit that provides direct care for the general Medical Surgical population in Ludington, Mason County and surrounding counties in West Michigan.This unit cares for a wide range of medical conditions including: pneumonia, cellulitis, kidney failure, hyperglycemia, Diabetic Issues, Ulcers, Confused Elderly, Alcohol Abuse, Acute/Chronic Kidney Injury, Sepsis, Psychiatric Population.About Ludington HospitalFor over a century, we have provided comprehensive health care services for Mason and Oceana County residents and the thousands of tourists who visit each year. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider. Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients.
