This role is based in San Jose, CA and will act as the local technical authority while also serving as a global subject‑matter expert for ADI’s buck, boost, buck‑boost, and LDO power portfolio.This is a hands‑on, execution‑focused role and measured by complete, correct, consistent and timely deliverables. The successful candidate will accelerate customer design‑ins and design‑wins by removing technical barriers, providing system‑level guidance, and enabling both internal teams and customers to efficiently implement ADI power solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the primary technical escalation point for complex customer issues, advanced power architectures, and challenging application requirementsServe as a global technical expert for ADI’s buck, boost, buck‑boost, and LDO product portfolioProvide system‑level power architecture guidance across applications ranging from nano‑power designs to high‑voltage, high‑power systemsSupport key markets including data centers, automotive, industrial, instrumentation, aerospace, and defense, with a strong understanding of system intent and customer requirementsDrive customer design‑in and design‑win activities through hands‑on technical engagement, lab validation, and application guidanceDevelop and review evaluation systems, application notes, schematics, layouts, and measurement methodologiesIdentify competitive strengths, weaknesses, and system‑level gaps in ADI’s power portfolio and propose actionable improvementsDeliver technical training to Sales, Field Applications Engineers, and distributorsPresent technical solutions to customers with clarity and confidence, supporting both engineering and commercial objectivesCollaborate cross‑functionally with Product, Design, Marketing, and Systems teams to influence product direction and roadmap decisionsRequired QualificationsMaster’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (PhD degree preferred)15+ years of experience in power electronics, power management IC applications, or system‑level power designDeep technical expertise in DC‑DC converters (buck, boost, buck‑boost) and LDO regulatorsStrong system‑level understanding of power solutions across multiple end marketsProven ability to solve complex customer problems and drive solutions to completionHands‑on laboratory experience with power validation, debugging, and performance characterizationExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage customers and internal stakeholdersAbility to balance technical excellence with practical execution to meet customer and business needsMust be local to San Jose, CA, with willingness to travel as neededPreferred QualificationsExperience with high‑voltage DC or high‑power DC systemsFamiliarity with EMI/EMC considerations, thermal management, and power system reliabilityExperience supporting instrumentation, industrial, automotive, aerospace, applicationsBackground in influencing product definition through customer and competitive insightsWhat We’re Looking ForA customer‑first mindset with a strong sense of ownershipA technology thought leader focused on real‑world adoption and resultsA hands‑on, get‑it‑done approach, practical, decisive, and outcome‑drivenA collaborative engineer who complements existing leadership and elevates team effectivenessFor positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
