IT Support Technician

Position Summary The IT Logistics Support Technician provides hands-on support to the IT Operations team by preparing, imaging, shipping, and processing a wide range of IT hardware. This includes PCs, printers, network switches, phones, UPS units, and related equipment moving between the warehouse and retail locations.This role requires strong attention to detail, basic technical aptitude, and the ability to follow help desk tickets to ensure timely fulfillment, accurate asset tracking, and proper handling of equipment throughout its lifecycle.Key Responsibilities Review help desk tickets to identify inventory requests, deployments, and returnsPick and stage equipment from inventory based on ticket requirementsDetermine appropriate shipping methods based on urgency, business impact, and cost efficiencyPrepare PCs for deployment by: Unboxing and transporting to imaging stationsInstalling standard operating system imagesRepackaging and labeling for shipmentPackage and label all IT equipment in accordance with carrier and company guidelinesProcess returned equipment by: Recovering data from hard drives when requiredRemoving and staging hard drives and memory from non-recovery devicesSorting and disposing of end-of-life electronics in designated recycling areasUpdate ticket statuses and maintain accurate asset records in the help desk systemAssist with basic technical troubleshooting through the help desk platform under supervisionRequired Qualifications Working knowledge of IT hardware, including PCs, printers, network switches, phones, and UPS devicesExperience using or ability to quickly learn help desk ticketing systems for asset tracking and logisticsAbility to follow detailed technical instructions, particularly for device imaging and handling sensitive componentsStrong organizational skills with high attention to detailAbility to lift and move equipment up to 40 pounds on a regular basisWillingness to work approximately 10–15% of the time in a non–climate-controlled warehouse environmentEffective verbal and written communication skills for documenting ticket updatesPreferred Qualifications Previous experience in IT logistics, warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or technical supportFamiliarity with imaging tools such as SCCM, MDT, or similar deployment systemsBasic understanding of data recovery processes and secure handling of storage devicesWorking Conditions This position operates in both office and warehouse environments. Approximately 10–15% of time will be spent in a non–climate-controlled warehouse.
