Staff / Lead Magento DeveloperOne of our key clients are looking for an experienced Staff Engineer to lead their growing dev team as an offshore contractor. This is a hands-on leadership role, you'll own the technical architecture and drive sprint delivery, while still shipping code alongside the team.The stack: Magento 2 · PHP · React · Next.js · GraphQL · TypeScriptWhat you'll be doing:→ Owning the technical architecture of our Magento 2 platform and headless front end→ Leading a team of 6+ engineers through sprint planning and delivery→ Setting engineering standards via code reviews, design decisions, and mentoring→ Acting as the primary technical decision-maker across the platform→ Working directly with the CTO and stakeholders on the technical roadmap→ Staying hands-on — building complex features alongside your teamWhat we're looking for:✔ 8+ years in software engineering, strong e-commerce background✔ Deep Magento 2 expertise — architecture, custom modules, GraphQL, upgrades✔ Proven experience as a technical lead or staff/principal engineer✔ Strong React / Next.js and TypeScript skills✔ Experience owning Agile delivery and leading engineering teams✔ Availability for UK core hours (08:00–17:00 GMT/BST)✔ Excellent English communication — comfortable with both engineers and non-technical stakeholdersEngagement: ContractorHours: Full-time, UK core hoursStart: ASAPIf you're a practical, grounded technical leader who leads by doing, please apply!
